Sediment cores are stored at 3-4 degrees centigrade in a 10,000 square foot refrigerated room. The majority of cores are split and stored in plastic D-tubes.	Dredge rock and oceanic island samples are stored in wooden drawers in a series of steel racks. A computer database is used to store the drawer location of each sample
