3.Need at least one intermediate port stop to facilitate participation of one

This cruise was originally scheduled on REVELLE in 2003, but that schedule has
been vetoed by NSF because they or their lawyers fear it will complicate legal
problems stemming from EWING's 2002 cruise in the same region. THOMPSON or KILO
MOANA might be suitable alternatives to REVELLE
