Dr. Dick was co-chief scientist of a cruise beginning Dec. 11, 2001 ending Jan.
15 2002 on the Japanese Research Vessel Yokosuka, and prior to that was cochief
scientist of a cruise over Dec. 2000 ending in January 2001 and has small
children he has promised he will not be at sea over a third christmas in a row.
