Equipment Required:
X Vans X P-Code GPS _ MCS _ Alvin _ ABE
_ Dynamic Positioning X Multibeam _ SCS _ ROV _ 680 Cond.
_ Helicopter Operation
===============================================================================
Other Special Equipment; Comments:
----------------------------------
Science operations on I8S/I9N will very strongly resemble those on Roger
Revelle P16S 2005, but with 1-2 additional sampling programs. Estimates
include Trace Metal program. Multibeam not strictly required, but is
desirable. J. Swift is Chief Scientist, leg 1. Janet Sprintall is Chief
Scientist, Leg 2.
Cruise support proposed jointly to NOAA OGP, NSF CO, and NSF PO programs.
Prefer dual shipboard ADCPs; GPS attitude sensor such as the Ashtech ADU-2.

Are there special considerations of the science party or cruise scheduling?
Consider science time constraints; coordination of equipment shipping;
two-ship operations; weather windows; mooring turn-around; teaching schedules
and others that will affect scheduling decisions.
