Consider science time constraints; coordination of equipment shipping;
two-ship operations; weather windows; mooring turn-around; teaching schedules
and others that will affect scheduling decisions.

We would prefer to avoid the hurricane season! The required 60 concrete
anchors (200 kg each) strongly favors San Diego as the start port. The 40
seafloor instruments also favor San Diego as the end port; we could ship them
back from a foreign port, but have not budgeted for this in the proposal. We
will need a .680 deeptow cable, but do NOT need fiber optic capability.
