Other Special Equipment; Comments:
----------------------------------
MOCNESS and technician
MOCNESS (1 m-squared nets) and technician, -80C freezer, CTD, Nitrogen and
Hydrogen
on board, darkroom for microscope work.
Have added 3 more days Jason (12 more hours per site) for
32 days total, 29 days science (21 Jason, 1.5 MOCNESS, 1.5 transponders,
1 transit between sites, 4 days contingency (weather, Jason problems)).
Our original ship request was 26 days science, but reviewers had concerns with
us not having enough time per site, which may be an issue with elevator
retrievals,
etc., given that elevator manipulations can take a lot of time, and our plan
is to cycle bottles and bring up rock and biological samples using
elevators.
Re ship preference, Atlantis is okay, and Kilo Moana is okay IF its been used
successfully for JasonII ops PRIOR to our cruise.

Are there special considerations of the science party or cruise scheduling?
Consider science time constraints; coordination of equipment shipping;
two-ship operations; weather windows; mooring turn-around; teaching schedules
and others that will affect scheduling decisions.
