ONR(Code 32CM) will sponsor several mine countermeasure technologies during a
military exercise that will be conducted during June 2004. The MCM techology
demonstration activities are planned for the operating area in the vicinity of
Onslow Bay and Camp Lejeune, NC. The R/V would be used as a support vessel for
UUV's (gliders,swimmers and crawlers). Daily operations from port could be
anticipated during the initial phase of the demonstration. The R/V could also
be used to support US Navy dive personnel who would accurately locate shapes on
the ocean floor(water depth of less than 150ft).
