We will need multibeam and we will require jumbo piston coring capability. The
primary objective of this cruise is giant piston coring so we require a vessel
that has tis capability. Multibeam is requested but is not as critical to the
success of the voyage.

Coring in this region is best done in the Austral summer (November-March).
Spring and fall conditions in this area tend to have maximal winds which would
almost certainly reduce the number of days that coring could be conducted.
April to October should be avoided if at all possible.
