The Center of Excellence in Marine Life Sciences is located at the interface between Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound.
The National Science Foundation provided funding through both Research Infrastructure Improvement and its Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) to bring the Center into existence as a cohesive core facility for marine research. The Center consists of modern laboratories for culturing marine organisms of all kinds and for investigating their environment and molecular ecology.
