This small, unadorned, site is intended to provide access to the following:

1. Information on the Fish Sounds CDs. These are the recordings of 153 species of fish from the Western North Atlantic compiled by Marie P. Fish and William H. Mowbray.  How to order the CDs.
 
 

2. A series of short articles for a lay audience on bioacoustics and underwater sound that originally appeared in the GSO publication Maritimes.   These are a good way to learn a little about sounds in the sea and how they are studied.
 
 
 

For the time being, this will be a minimalist site, without the benefit of a graphic artist or a web designer. Nevertheless, we hope it can provide a useful introduction to study of bioacoustics and the sounds made by fishes.
