Areas of Specialization

Research

Paul Hargraves's general research interests include phytoplankton systematics, ultrastructure, biodiversity and natural history. Recent research projects include UV effects on phytoplankton and harmful algal bloom species, diatom flora of the U.S. east coast, and toxic diatoms and dinoflagellates.

Teaching

Paul Hargraves teaches General Oceanography (OCG401); Marine Plankton (w/ Karen Wishner)and co-teaches Oceanography for Educators (OCG507) & Global Change for Educators (OCG508) with Gail Scowcroft.
