The 185-foot Research Vessel ENDEAVOR is based in Narragansett,
Rhode Island. ENDEAVOR is owned by the National Science Foundation and has been operated by the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO) for over thirty years. Scientists from Rhode Island, the greater US, and abroad, train graduate students and conduct research aboard this multi-disciplinary oceanographic research vessel.
Expeditions are conducted in nearby Rhode Island waters, in the eastern and western North Atlantic and in such distant locations such as the Galapagos Islands and the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
