1. Field of Expertise:
2. Submergence Platform(s) Used:
3. Workshop Questions:  - Will a higher depth manned acrylic submersible,
capable of diving in the range of 6000-8000 ft. ocean depth and equipped
(at least) as the present Johnson Sea Link - I and - II, improve your
research capabilities? If so, can you please tell us how?
4. Region of Interest:
5. Types of submergence systems anticipated for work/technology
   development:
   - I am interested in developing higher depth manned submersible with
unlimited panoramic view.

1. Field of Expertise:  Marine Geology
2. Submergence Platform(s) Used:  Nautile
3. Workshop Questions:
4. Region of Interest:
5. Types of submergence systems anticipated for work/technology
   development:
I don't anticipate requesting submersible time in the near future.

6. Abstract:

I simply wish to add my name to requests to add a sidescan sonar and
sediment profiler to the existing instrument suite.  Due to power
limitations, these would only be used intermittently and perhaps in
slow-scan mode but are necessary, I believe, to allow extrapolation from
visual observations away from the submersible path when doing any kind of
geological transect.
