Areas of Specialization
Research
I also have a joint appointment as Professor in the College of Engineering, Department of Ocean Engineering. My research focuses on marine geotechnics, in particular the application of geotechnical techniques in paleoceanography, tectonics, and seafloor stability. I also research the best practices for marine drilling, in situ testing, and site investigations. Recently, I have focused efforts on marine geotechnics for the design of offshore wind turbines.Teaching
I have a joint appointment in the College of Engineering, Department of Ocean Engineering. I teach marine geotechnics (OCE 585), the ocean engineering senior design course (OCE 495/495), Introduction to Ocean Engineering (OCE 101), and participate in OCE 311, Coastal Measurements and OCG/OCE 506, Numerical Models and Data Analysis in Ocean Sciences.Outreach
